Persian Occupation of Syria Follis; Imitative of Heraclius

Persian Occupation of Syria: 610-629, Imitative AE follis of Heraclius

Ox: Heraclius and Heraclius Constantine each hold a cross on globe

Rx: Large M with ANNO to right, year to left, cross above and gamma below

A very nice example of this imitative type issued during the Persian occupation. Only the second one of these I've found with very nice details and even desert patina. The bar above the gamma officina is typical of the issue, but the reversed ANNO and regnal year to either side of the M is unusual. 26mm, 7.0gms
